Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 30, 2026
JR Radio ("we", "our app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the app uses and how.
1. Information the app uses
- Approximate location: only while the app is in use, solely to display local weather. Coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap Nominatim (reverse geocoding) and Open-Meteo (forecast). They are not stored on our servers and are not associated with your identity.
- Local notifications: if you enable them in Settings, the app schedules alerts on-device. We do not use remote push notifications and do not collect device tokens.
- Preferences: temperature unit and other preferences are stored locally via UserDefaults. They never leave your device.
2. Information we do NOT collect
We do not collect name, email, phone number, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics. The app uses no ad networks, analytics, or cross-app tracking.
3. Third-party services
- Audio stream: radio.jrradiodmv.com (AzuraCast)
- Weather: api.open-meteo.com
- Geocoding: nominatim.openstreetmap.org
- Headlines: api.rss2json.com (queries public RSS feeds)
Each has its own privacy policy.
4. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
5. Changes
If this policy changes, we will publish the updated version on this page.
